After the Training of Facilitators in late fall 2019, leaders like Michelle Kubalack return to their communities and host five Learning Circles with up to 20 people to discuss how to promote wellness and address suicide. Kubalack shared her story with KOTZ’s Wesley Early and talked about her hopes for the project and her community.
“I want the youth to be comfortable in talking about a difficult subject to an adult or with each other,” Kubalack said. “So I think it would make a big difference if they could express how much suicide hurts or how it affected them.”
The first Learning Circle in Kotzebue is scheduled for January 29th.
