From Roberta:

Greetings! I would lilke to introduce myself. My name is Roberta Moto. I am the Wellness Program Manager. I transitioned from the Village Based Counselor position to the Wellness Program Manager in mid-November of 2014. My parents were Evans and Flora Karmun of Deering. I have lived in Deering since 1979. My husband Ron and I have been married 28 years. We have six kids. I am the grandmother to 5. I am working out of the Deering Clinic.

I started out college at the UAF campus and majored in Elementary Education. I earned my Associates Degree in 2000 in Elementary Education and with a minor in Bilingual Education. I started working in the Social Work field as an ICWA Coordinator for the Native Village of Deering from 1993-1997. I went back to the IRA as Administrator in 2001-2006. I started with Maniilaq as Village Based Counselor in July of 2006. I earned my RHS certificate in May of 2008. After the RHS program, I began taking Social Work classes through UAF distance delivery. I completed my Social Work internship under Michelle Woods working with the Teck John Baker Youth Leaders Program and am nearly completed with my Bachelors in Social Work. I am very excited to be working in the Wellness Program.
